An opening like this will send a chill through your veins, no matter what the topic.Â
There we were watching tv hearing about the killings, kidnapping, migrants drowning in the sea trying to get away from wars to a safer shore, children used in the sex trade, police shootings and attacks dominating the news and been shared by everyone we are connected to on social media.
Itâs the little things that wear you down because our emotions are intimately connected. Although we acquire knowledge from you all, you have also given us this incurable disease that we cannot medicate. Moreover, the pain itself creates feelings of anger and sadness.
Before you know it affects how we work and function. It hurts when all our efforts to save everyone goes in vain, so we are constantly looking for the brighter side because "every cloud has a silver lining"âŚ.
Maybe we should stiffen our hearts, become almost soulless, in an effort to survive. Or should we focus on a more positive lesson, that love is a scarce resource, more precious than we realize? They say you cannot appreciate the bright glow of the sun until youâve felt the cool dark of the moon.
âA sad soul can kill you quicker, far quicker, than any weapon.â
WE FEEL LIKE âTHE WALKING DEADâ
Whenever we hear somebody is sad or some bad news about someone, we start feeling guilty and become sad. Why does this happen?
Empathy.
We identify with their pain and feel some kind of moral responsibility with regards to the cause of their sadness, or other personâs sorrow as a fellow human being.
Ultimately, we are not responsible to make everybody happy.
Is it ok to not care about what is happening in society?
No!
We donât believe it is OK. If you look around at the major problems facing our world, it is in part because people didnât care enough to think about the consequences, what is right or wrong. We personally believe that we are all on this earth to be all we can be, and to use our gifts to help others.
Helping others is the first step in making the world a better place and improving the lives of those who arenât as lucky as you.
But helping others isnât limited to these grand gestures or times of tribulation. Helping others can be done each and every day. And contrary to what you may have heard, helping others doesnât always have to be a selfless act. Itâs important to understand that helping others can actually help yourself. No matter what the motivation, getting out and helping others is the key.
I
tâs not about wealth or power.
It does not really matter whether you help others for your own sake/pleasureâ because you simply do not exist as an isolated, independent, and self-contained âselfâ. Society only functions well when people co-operate.
Itâs maybe the most cited benefit of doing good: youâll feel great. Helping others is a great way to feel better about yourself. Seeing a smile or even tears of joy makes it all worth it. Itâs as simple as that.
Positive, Proactive, Cheerful, Joyful, Peaceful
âWe do not get to choose how we start out in life. We do not get to choose the day we are born or the family we are born into, what we are named at birth, what country we are born in, and we do not get to choose our ancestry. All these things are predetermined by a higher power. By the time you are old enough to start making decisions for yourself, a lot of things in your life are already in place. Itâs important, therefore, that you focus on the future, the only thing that you can change.âÂ
